Quare bargain!

This is probably going to be my most exciting post yet! I had the absolute pleasure of being apart of the old/new Primark VIP opening in Belfast! The tragic fire that The Bank Buildings endured a few years ago back in 2019 was devastating and I'm so excited for it to be back!  Over the past four years a "complex" restoration project has been undertaken at the 237-year-old building, and it's now ready to reopen to the public (ITV, 2022).  They have honeslty done such a great job at getting it back up and running, and its bigger and better than ever! So well done to everyone involved, its fab!!  Anyone who is from or lives here knows that The Bank Buildings is such a monumental element of Belfast and I know we have all missed going for a cheeky wee shopping spree to get our fluffy socks and  cosy jammies! I have fond memories before I moved to Belfast of going to Primark every christmas and be absolutley buzzing to get my hands on whatever I could and as my mum would s...

Scundered!

Not gonna lie, I kind of live a wee bit like a hermit most of the time, when I'm not at work or crying into my laptop doing uni work, I am rewatching the same tv show or movie over and over and over again. Most of my mates know its usually Scary Movie (has to be the first one, never gets old) or New Girl. Its the only two options, its a comfort thing. (You might be wondering how Scary Movie is my comfort movie, it just is). But when I'm not in my cave and have a wee bitta time for myself I'll take myself on a dander around Belfast and try to find new places. Especially now that I have moved slightly out of the city a bit, I'm starting to miss the busy and chatoic-ness that is Belfast. Anywho, I'm raging that it took all this time to take myself off to St. Georges Market! The market is one of Belfast's oldest attractions, how mad is that? It is open Fridays from 8-2pm, Saturdays 9-3pm and Sundays 10-3pm! The vibes here are class, theyve got so many wee stalls, fr...

Late night thoughts 💭

Let’s normalise not always being on top of everything at all times! And I’m not just on about consistently living on a budget however it seems to have a big stereotype of being less than if you are living on a budget or living pay check to pay check.  But I just mean who actually has their **** together at all times?  Social media can make us think that we have to be constantly productive an always on the ball when really it’s not wee buns all the time, like social media makes it out to be.  Let’s normalise:  • Wearing an outfit more than once • Just having a wee gurn - you’ll feel better I promise • Asking for help • Saying no - something I’m not very good at but a work in progress!  I’m not trying to romanticise living on a budget but I think that we shouldn’t feel ashamed or embarrassed if things aren’t always rainbows and sunshines, do you know what I mean but?

What are you on about?

Welcome to the skint blueprint! Never did I think I would ever be telling people how to spend their money, or give tips on how to save money, scundered! Well, at the end of the day I’m a student so technically I’m allowed to be broke, but you don’t have to be in this cost of living crisis malarkey! This is my wee blog about Belfast and all the class wee things it has to offer! You wouldn't be long getting frostbit now that it costs a leg and arm to even breathe (many thanks to our gover .... nvm ) so I am here to help save you some coin and make sure your guddies aren't scrappers. I'll be bringing hints and tips for places to shop, eat, drink (probably the one thing I don't need to tell Irish people how to do) and also show you fun and quirky places that you didn't even know existed, at the expense of me dragging myself out of my house away from my cave.       I can't lie to you, I gave myself a good oul pat on the back for coming up with the name '...
